I have several miniUSB tips, they all look the same but they have different numbers ... what is the deal?
Solution Our customers often ask why do we have so many miniUSB looking tips, are they different? Yes they are!

Even thought he tips look the same doesn't mean the internal wiring is the same.  You may find that if you ordered a tip for a Motorola device will plug into a Blackberry device.  Even though it seems to work doesn't mean it will work in the long run and properly charge your device. There is only one true "standard" miniUSB tip which is tip number 21.  Just because it shaped like the standard miniUSB does *not* mean the tip design internally meets the OEM design spec which means there is no guarantee it will charge your device.  We have over 10 different miniUSB tips that all look the same but in reality are wired different inside. I suggest you look up the correct tip number for your devices.

Keep in mind we do not "design" the connector, rather we comply with the spec that the device manufacture sets. Sometimes we may design improvements to allow the use of USB sync functionality along with charging capabilities.  Thank you for your time in reading this help page, the moral of the story is look up your tip number by going to our tip page here:
